I watch every Denver offensive game and came away more impressed with Jay Cutler than ever before. His foot quickness and his movement are very impressive and it makes no sense to bring blitzes from depth against him. His eye control and ability to feel the rush is very, very impressive.

Is Denver's Offense Scoring Too Fast?
Note: Guru may have spoken on this some last night on the podcast, I have yet to download and listen to it.
So far this season Denver's offense is off to a record-setting pace, while its defense looks to be equally bad. Why is this happening, is our offense making life tougher on the defense? I sat down and looked at some numbers to see if I could come up with a conclusion.

Denver defensive linemen Jarvis Moss and Dwayne Robertson need to do something. I just watched them both on tape and it was painful. Moss looks like a blown pick right now.

Brody Croyle is terrible, but Damon Huard, he's terrible too, but he's functionally terrible, know what I mean?

I Didn't See Champ Last Night (and that's great!)
After watching the game last night, I realized I didn't remember seeing Champ in on any plays or hearing the announcers mention his name. In fact, the only time I remember seeing Champ the entire game was when he made a tackle on the Broncos first kickoff. This means Champ didn't make any defensive tackles, deflect any passes, or intercept any passes, and that makes me happy!

Al Davis Likes Shiny Things
The Pro-Football-Reference Blog has a short post on Al Davis and his infatuation with 1st round picks.
My favorite part of the article shows that of the two teams on which he had 22 former 1st-rounders, both were 4-12. It's amazing to see how a team can stockpile so many 'talented' players, yet be so poor. We can only hope the Darren McFadden pick continues the trend.
